📖 Description
- We’ve introduced a powerful Carry Forward feature that allows you to shift unpaid charges from one Work Order (WO) to the next within the Work Request (WR).
- Instead of chasing payments at the end of each day, your crews and customers now have the flexibility to settle balances at any point in the workflow — including the final Work Order.
👥 Who this is for
- Moving companies managing multi-day residential or commercial moves
- Billing & accounting teams looking to simplify partial or deferred payments
- Crews who want a smoother in-field payment process
💡 Why this matters
- Streamlined billing — no more multiple partial invoices and payments per day
- Customer convenience — allows flexibility to settle balances later, including at job completion
- Accounting accuracy — carried forward amounts are tracked across WOs with references for full transparency
- Fewer disputes — clear visibility of outstanding balances at every stage
🛠 How it works
Eligibility
- Carry Forward is available only after a WO has been executed in the Crew App.
Crew App Flow
- In a multi-day WO, crews will see a Carry Forward button during payment collection.
- When selected, a popup displays the next WO number and title where the balance will be carried.
- The unpaid total is transferred to the next WO, with the reference automatically logged.
CRM & UI Updates
- The carried charges appear in the CRM → Work Order (WO) → Income Section, with a link to the Next WO.
- In the Crew App, the carried balance is displayed in the payment screen of the next WO.
Rules & Restrictions
- A WO that has received a carried amount cannot be deleted.
- The final WO cannot be deleted unless all carried amounts are fully paid.
- This carry-forward flow can continue up to the last work order (WO) of that work request (WR).
- Carry forward applies only to the Grand Total (convenience fees are excluded until the payment method is chosen as a card).
💳 Example Flow
- WR000264 has two WOs: WO010014 and WO010015.
- In WO010014, a $5,886 balance remains unpaid. The crew selects Carry Forward.
- The system confirms: “Carried Forward Balance to WO010015”.
- In WO010015, the Crew App shows the previous balance from WO010014 + balance due ($14,960).
- The customer can then pay by card, cash, check, etc.
- If they pay by card, the convenience fee is calculated on the combined total of both WOs.
