Deposits can now match the move. Each service type carries its own Deposit Type (percentage or fixed amount) and Deposit Amount — so a Local job can ask for one deposit and an Interstate job another. When your team creates an estimate, the deposit prefills from the selected service type, not a single company-wide default. Previously the prefill came from one global setting under Sales → Estimates; now it follows the kind of work you're quoting.

What's New

• Deposit Type and Deposit Amount per service type: two new fields on the Edit Service screen, with percentage or flat-amount options — right alongside the service type's convenience fee settings.
• Visible at a glance: the Service Types list now shows Deposit Type and Deposit Amount columns, so you can review every service type's deposit rule in one screen.
• Smarter estimate prefill: the deposit on a new estimate prefills according to the estimate's service type — adjustable per estimate as always.

⚙️ How to Configure

1) Go to Settings → General → Service Types, select a service type, and click Edit. The list's new Deposit Type and Deposit Amount columns show what's configured so far.

2) In Edit Service, set the Deposit Type — percentage or fixed amount — and the Deposit Amount, then save. Repeat for each service type with its own policy.

3) That's it — new estimates for that service type prefill the deposit from these settings.

Good to Know

• Percent or flat: the Deposit Type dropdown supports a percentage of the estimate or a fixed dollar amount, per service type.
• Same home as convenience fees: deposit settings sit beside the per-service-type convenience fee fields on Edit Service, keeping each service type's money rules in one place.
• Prefill, not a lock: the deposit lands on the estimate as a starting value — your team can still adjust it on the individual estimate when a job calls for it.

Available Now

Deposit settings by service type are live now under Settings → General → Service Types. Set each service type's deposit once, and every new estimate starts with the right ask. Built from customer feedback, as always.
