We’re excited to introduce a new enhancement that makes scheduling and dispatching jobs more efficient in Movegistics AI.

Operations teams can now assign Tools & Equipment to a Work Order directly from the Operations → Assign screen while assigning a job to a team, eliminating the need to immediately navigate into the Work Order to complete equipment planning.

💡 Why This Matters

Before this enhancement, assigning a team and assigning tools/equipment were handled in separate workflows.

After assigning a Work Order to a team, dispatchers had to:

1. Open the Work Order
2. Navigate to the Dispatch tab
3. Open Assign Tools & Equipment
4. Assign the required resources

This created unnecessary extra steps during scheduling. Now, dispatchers can assign tools and equipment while scheduling the Work Order directly from the Assign screen.

⚙️ How It Works

Step 1: Assign a Work Order to a Team

Navigate to the Assign tab and schedule the Work Order to a team.

Step 2: Open Assign Tools & Equipment

Edit the team → Inside the assigned Work Order card, click: Assign Tools & Equipment

Step 3: Select Required Resources

Assign the tools and equipment required for that specific job.

Step 4: Save

The selected tools and equipment are saved against that specific Work Order.

🔄 Editing Assigned Tools & Equipment

• Tools and equipment can be initially assigned from the Assign screen during scheduling. However, if changes are needed later, they must be managed from the Work Order itself.
• To update assigned resources: Work Order → Dispatch Tab → Assign Tools & Equipment
• This ensures all job-specific equipment changes are managed from the Work Order where dispatch activities are tracked.

📝 Important Note

The assigned tools and equipment are stored at the Work Order level, not at the Team level.

This means:

✅ Different Work Orders assigned to the same team can have different tools and equipment assigned.

✅ Equipment requirements remain specific to each job.

✅ Dispatchers can customize resources based on the exact needs of the move.

For example:

• Work Order A may require a Piano Board and Appliance Dolly.
• Work Order B assigned to the same team may require only a Cargo Trailer.

Each Work Order maintains its own equipment assignment independently.
