Ownership now lines up from the very first step. When you create a work request and set the Work Request Owner, that same person is automatically set as the Contact Owner — and, when a company is associated, as the company's Account Owner too. A coordinator can build the work request on a salesperson's behalf, assign them as the owner, and every record created along the way lands with the right person — no follow-up cleanup in the Contacts or Companies modules.
What's New
- Owner inheritance on Create Work Request: when the work request is created, the selected Work Request Owner is applied as the Contact Owner, and as the Account Owner of the associated company.
- Works with new and selected contacts: whether you create the contact on the fly during the work request or pick an existing one, ownership is aligned to the Work Request Owner when you proceed.
- Editing stays scoped: changing the Work Request Owner on an existing work request updates the work request only — Contact and Account Owners are not touched after creation.
Who This Is For
- Commercial coordinators who set up work requests on behalf of the sales team
- Sales reps who should own the contact and company behind every deal assigned to them
- Sales managers who want ownership consistent across work requests, contacts, and companies
- Back office teams who previously corrected contact and account owners by hand
🧠How to Use It
- Start a new work request. Select or create the contact (1) — an associated company auto-populates as usual — and note the Work Request Owner under Other Details (2), prefilled with the logged-in user.

Create New Work Request: the contact and company (1), with the Work Request Owner defaulting to the logged-in user (2)
- Change the Work Request Owner to the salesperson who should own the deal, and continue to the next step.

The company's Account Owner matches too (1)
- …and of course as the WR Owner on the work request itself.

Good to Know
- Creation only, by design: the inheritance happens when the work request is created. Updating the Work Request Owner later, from Edit Work Request (Sales Summary), changes the work request alone — contact and company ownership you've since arranged stays put.
- Two easy paths for later changes: the pencil icons on the work request's Contact and Company cards, or the Contacts and Companies modules, both let you reassign ownership at any time.
- Defaults unchanged: a contact created on the fly still starts with the logged-in user as its owner, and the Work Request Owner field still prefills with the logged-in user — the sync simply aligns everything to whoever you choose as the Work Request Owner.

This enhancement is live for all accounts — no setup needed. The next work request your team creates carries its owner through to the contact and company automatically. It came straight from how coordinators and sales teams divide the work; keep the feedback coming.
