Commissions can now be paid on what a job actually earns. The new Job Margin commission type β joining Revenue Based, Itemized, Tiered, and Line Items β calculates a person's commission from the work order's net job margin (total income minus total expenses). Configure it as a Fixed Margin cut (say, 10% of the margin) or as Margin Range bands that pay a commission only when the profit lands inside the range β for workers, contractors, sales reps, or any commission role.
Because a margin isn't final until the money is in, there's a new Paid work order status to go with it: it unlocks once the work order is Completed, and it's the moment commissions settle. Until the work order is marked Paid, commission sections stay out of the margin summary; mark it Paid, and the commission calculates on the final margin and appears everywhere β the Expenses tab, the View Calculation breakdown, the margin summary, and the work order list.
1) Go to Settings β Commissions, add a commission, and choose Job Margin as the type. Set a Fixed Margin β a percentage or dollar amount of the net margin β and/or Margin Range bands: a from/to range with the commission that applies when the job's margin falls inside it. Our example: 10% fixed, plus a 5% band for margins between $5,000 and $10,000.

Add Commission with Job Margin selected (1), a Fixed Margin (2), and a Margin Range band (3)
2) The commission joins your list like any other β named, role-scoped, and per service type.

3) Assign it to the person β for a worker, under Settings β Resources β Workers β Edit, in the Select Commission section for the right service type. The same works for contractors and user roles.

4) Work the job as usual β book the work request, confirm the work order, and assign the worker to the job.

5) While the job is in progress β even once Completed β the margin summary holds off: worker, vehicle, and contractor commission sections are hidden and not yet calculated, because the margin isn't final.

6) Once the work order is Completed, the new Paid status becomes available in the WO Status dropdown β select it when the job's money is in.

7) The commission now calculates on the final margin. Under Expenses β Worker Commissions, the worker's Job Margin commission appears β and View Calculation shows the math: net margin $1,545.00 Γ 10% fixed = $154.50.

8) The margin summary now includes it: Worker Commissions join the expense side, and the Net Job Margin updates accordingly β here from $1,545.00 to $1,390.50.
