The Task Management Module just gained its automation layer. With the new Task Rule in Automations, tasks no longer need to be created by hand on every work request or work order — define a rule once, and the right task is created automatically whenever your trigger fires: a work request created manually, a lead converted, a tag applied, a stage change, and more. The task lands on the record with its owner, due date, and tags from your task template, and the owner is notified by email or text the moment it's assigned.
It's the “deeper automation” we promised when the Tasks module launched — your follow-ups, surveys, and operational to-dos now schedule themselves.
Start with a task template
1) Go to Settings → Task Templates and click + to create the template your rule will use.

Settings (1) → Task Templates (2) → add a template (3)
2) Define the task name, owner, description, due-date offset (Due On, in days), tags, and how to notify the owner — Email, Text, or both.

3) Go to Settings → Automations and click +.

Settings (1) → Automations (2) → create a new rule (3)
4) Name your rule, click Select under Rule Type, and choose Task Rule.

5) Under Template, choose whether the rule runs on Work Request or Work Order, then pick the task template from the dropdown.

6) Set the Triggers — the options match the module you chose. For work requests: Lead Converted to Work Request, On Pipeline or Stage Change, Text Received, Work Request Created Manually, Email Received, or Tag Applied to Work Request.

7) Optionally add Filters so the rule fires only where it should — for example, only a specific service type, pipeline stage, or jobs over a weight threshold.

Filters: company type, service type, job type, source, pipeline, stage, weight, volume, distance
8) Choose the Delay: Immediately, After Days, Days Before Move Date, Days Before Next Follow-Up Date, Days Before Expected Close Date, or Delay in Hours.

9) Review the flow and Save. Your rule joins the Automations list alongside your email and text rules.

10) Create a work request manually — the rule fires at once: the work request toast is followed by the auto-created, auto-assigned tasks.

11) The task sits on the work request's Task card with its type, name, owner, due date (calculated from the template's day offset), and description — and the owner has been notified.

12) Back on the Automations list, the Occurrences column counts every run.

Task Rules are live now under Settings → Automations. Build a task template, wire it to a trigger, and let your follow-ups create themselves. This is the Phase 2 automation shaped directly by your feedback on the Tasks module — keep it coming.
