Weβre excited to introduce Migration Balance in Movegistics AI β a new onboarding feature designed to help moving companies seamlessly migrate customer account balances from legacy systems into Movegistics AI.
This enhancement eliminates the need for support intervention, spreadsheet imports, or workaround invoices when bringing existing Accounts Receivable (AR) balances into the platform.
When transitioning to a new CRM, many companies already have customers with:
Previously, users had to:
This process was time-consuming and increased the risk of accounting inconsistencies. With Migration Balance, users can now record opening balances directly from the Company record.
Navigate to: Sales β Companies β Open Company Record
You will now see a new: + Migration Balance button.

Migration Balance is designed specifically for onboarding and data migration scenarios.
If you enter a positive amount, Movegistics will automatically create an unapplied payment record.
Result:

This makes migration-created credits easy to identify and track separately from regular customer payments.

If you enter a negative amount, Movegistics will automatically create an open Migration Invoice.
Result:

This clearly identifies invoices created through the migration process.

Because migration balances represent historical transactions from another system, these records do not sync to QuickBooks.
Migration credits are stored as unapplied payments inside Movegistics AI.
When the credit is later applied to an invoice:
To maintain accurate accounting records, users must manually create a matching payment or journal entry in QuickBooks when the credit is used.
Migration balances entered as negative values create open invoices inside Movegistics AI.
When payments are later applied:
To keep records reconciled, users must manually create a matching invoice or journal entry in QuickBooks when settling the balance.
Before saving a Migration Balance, users must confirm that they understand:
This acknowledgement helps ensure accounting teams understand the reconciliation process before proceeding.
Migration Invoices are designed specifically for opening balance management and therefore have limited actions available.
For Migration Invoices:
β Edit Invoice
β Sync to QuickBooks
β Send Invoice Email
β Standard invoice modification workflows
Only the supported migration-related actions are available. This helps preserve the integrity of migrated accounting balances.

β Eliminate onboarding spreadsheets and support requests
β Record opening balances directly in Movegistics
β Support both customer credits and outstanding balances
β Maintain clear audit trails using Migration Payment and Migration Invoice types
β Reduce implementation time during onboarding
β Simplify CRM migrations from legacy systems
β Keep migrated balances clearly separated from operational invoices and payments
