📖 Description

• Card payment refunds in Movegistics AI now go further: alongside full refunds, you can issue partial refunds — returning exactly the amount owed, directly from the CRM.
• Refunds are now supported on both Authorize.Net and Stripe, so whichever gateway you use, there's no logging in to the gateway to process a return.
• Everything stays in one place — the refund is processed securely through your gateway and the CRM records update automatically.

⚙️ Where to Find It

Open the Payments card on any of these records — or the Payments module — and find the payment you need to refund:

• Contacts → Payment Card Section
  

• Work Requests → Payment Card Section
  

• Payments Module → Payment List View

✅ Conditions for Refund Availability

The Refund option will appear only when all the following criteria are met:

• Payment Mode: Card
• Payment Status: Successful
• Payment Gateway: Authorize.Net or Stripe
  

If these conditions are not met, the Refund button will not be visible.

💰 Refund Process

1. Expand the qualifying payment on the Payments card and click Refund — or, in the Payments module, select the payment and click Refund in the toolbar.
   
2. In the popup, choose Full Refund to return the entire payment, or Partial Refund to return part of it — enter the Refund Amount and a Reason.
   
   
   Payments module (1) → select the payment and click Refund (2) → choose Full Refund or Partial Refund (3)
   
3. Click Confirm — the refund is processed securely through your Authorize.Net or Stripe account.
   
4. Movegistics updates the payment automatically: the refunded amount and transaction details are recorded on the payment record, and fully refunded payments show the Refunded status.
   

🔄 Post-Refund Behavior

• If the refunded payment was previously applied to an invoice, it is automatically unlinked and removed from that invoice once the refund completes.
• The refunded amount and transaction details are logged under the payment record for full audit visibility.

• Refund exactly what's owed — partial refunds handle adjustments, disputes, and partial cancellations without returning the whole payment.
• One workflow for every gateway — Authorize.Net and Stripe refunds work identically, from the same screens.
• No tab-switching — process the refund where the payment lives, with reconciliation handled automatically.
• Clean books — invoice links and payment records update themselves, keeping accounting accurate.
